“She doesn’t push her ideas on to us, she gives a suggestion, then lets us make the decision - she made the process so easy.”

Design Brief

Jenny and Peter are seeking to modernise their 20-year-old vinyl wrap kitchen to create a more stylish, classic kitchen in a two-tone quality cabinetry finish. The design is to include a new Coffee Zone behind doors, tall wall cabinets to house the refrigerator, double oven tower, general pantry, and dedicated baking pantry to support Jenny’s love of baking.

Design Outcomes

The kitchen has a wonderful muted two tone mid-grey and soft warm white colour scheme, which creates a calm, elegant space and works beautifully with the existing slate floors. Italian matt black pull handles with rounded ends are added to base and tall cabinets and add visual interest and practicality. Square-edged capping finishes the perimeter of the tall cabinets and compliments the slim Shaker style cabinetry profile. The cabinetry is installed without bulkheads to provide a sense of custom furniture. Warm white Quartz Stone benchtops and splashbacks provide a subtle tone-on-tone match to the cabinets and walls are painted in the same warm white colour to create a backdrop for other features.

Bi-fold doors open to an internal coffee zone with stone bench, shelving, and drawer storage. There is a generous number of wide drawer units, cleaning zone, general pantry and a baker’s pantry for cake making appliances and special ingredients.

The new grey cabinetry, matt black hardware and black appliances work beautifully with the rich colours of the floor, while the soft white cabinetry, stonework and painted walls create a calming balance in the strong colour scheme. The slim Shaker profile doors provide a modern alternative to the traditional Hampton-style cabinets and work perfectly with the Mid-Century modern family home.

Client Testimonial

We were looking to install a new kitchen, but just didn’t know where to start! We were given Tracy’s name and phone number, a designer to design our kitchen. We were not disappointed, Tracy is a meticulous person, who looks at every single detail. She has wonderful suggestions, things we would not have given any thought to, she suggested, and everything has worked to perfection. She doesn’t push her ideas on to us, she gives a suggestion, then lets us make the decision – she made the process so easy. We would not have the beautiful kitchen we have today, if it was not for us engaging Tracy, there is always a lot of time and effort to getting everything together, and Tracy made it look effortless. Nothing was too much trouble, a phone call, and she was here.

Tracy works with Ricky Lewis from LJG (The Leading Joinery Group). Ricky and Tracy are two of a kind! They both pay attention to every detail. They worked very well together to enable us to have such a beautiful functional kitchen. We had no problems with the kitchen installation, it was done with the minimum disruption. Ricky has a great team; everything ran to time. The cabinetry and works are of a very high quality. Any problems, a phone call, and Ricky was here.

We are just delighted to have met these two amazing people, we not only have a beautiful kitchen, but we now have two very special friends.
